We don't create memories, memories create us
Whatever we are today, whatever is our identity, our personality is all the impact of our past memories. Whether we are happy or we are sad it's all because of our past memory. It is not necessary that memories should be only good without any pain and suffering. There should be some bad experience too which will give us an important life lesson. We can never create memories because who we are today we may not be the same after some years. And it may be because of this experience that i will use at that time to share and it will be totally different from my today's opinion.
But what is selected as the personal memory also needs to fit the current idea that we have of ourselves. Let's suppose you have always been very kind person but after a very distressing experience you have developed a strong aggressive nature that's now suits you. Not only has your behaviour changed your personal narrative has to. If you are now ask to describe yourself, you might include past events previously omitted from your narrative full stop for example comma instances in which you acted aggressively.
Whenever we do any work we never do it with a purpose of creating memory. Instead, we remember only few things which we recall unintentionally and that brings a change in us. It will give us an rough idea that will change our thought process.
Lastly ending with my most favourite line memories without a picture are the best memories ever, created because we don't need to pose for those pictures and don't need to think whether to laugh or not. Those memories are going to be with us for the rest of our life.
